Today, we honor the life and legacy of Timothy C. Pigford, a courageous advocate for justice for Black farmers.
As the lead plaintiff in the landmark Pigford v. Glickman case, his courage helped bring national attention to discrimination against Black farmers and opened the door for thousands to seek recognition and relief.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Pigford family and all who knew and loved him.
His legacy will live on through the farmers, land, and generations he helped inspire.
Rest well, Mr. Pigford.
